Stained glass 08: A frame for the lamp panel

Caroline suggested a frame would be helpful to keep the sides straight. It’s really important when making 3D objects to be as accurate as possible. The materials were leftovers from a household demolition: particle board and old screws. I didn’t care about the shape, so long as it was long enough to accommodate the panel. This is an early version – I later replaced the short side boards with longer pieces to ensure the sides reached the bottom of the panel. There is no bottom piece. I allowed about a half a centimetre of a gap on the sides. This is because adding the copper foil later will cause the pieces to expand a bit. The most important thing is that all the panels be the same, and I think this will allow me to achieve that. The downside is that the frame is fairly heavy (as is glass!) and it’s one more thing to lug to the workshop. I’ve got a roller bag now, so that will help.
