Illustration: Mystery in the Library, purely digital

Not entirely digital, of course. I hand-drew the furniture using a catalogue as reference, then scanned and digitised them. These were originally drawn for an HNC project several years ago, and were saved as individual images. I recently revived them, combined them and added some unifying elements (background texture, oval rug and shadows) as part of an application to join an artist’s collective.

I was looking for something simple and potentially suitable for a print in a business setting, given that most of my comic examples are about grunge and urban crime. However, my macabre streak continues to surface, because it really reminded me of an Agatha Christie setting. But at least it’s more Casper the Friendly Ghost than Emily the Strange.
