Aunt Eliza’s Star

Quilt patterns like Aunt Eliza’s Star work well as stained glass. You do need to be quite accurate in your cutting, otherwise it looks a mess. (That’s true of quilts, too).

I used a screen-printed flower as the centre square because it reminded me of fabric. The flower was hand drawn, then transferred to a screen and printed in two colours onto clear tekta glass. Then it was fired for permanence.

The finished piece made its debut at Brancepeth Castle in July 2018.
